Excellent. The guys there afforded us the time and shared their knowledge with us for this little gem whilst going the extra mile to show us round. RAF Burtonwood was a massive base and so much of Warrington's history in the later years of the 20th century.
Awesome people who are passionate about preserving the history. They are also very knowledgable and helpful. Lots to see in a very small area. Weirdly affiliated with an amusement park type venue.
My son wanted to visit here so today we went and we were not disappointed it is a fabulous informative place. The staff are very friendly and extremely knowledgeable. My son was impressed and so was I. We will definitely be visiting again
A superb museum at the most unlikely of places ! Inside is a huge collection of memorabilia relating to the former American air force base which was home to thousands before it's closure in the 1990's . There are several display huts outside including an American wedding chapel as well as an original DC-4 aircraft cockpit which represents the American effort during the Berlin Airlift .
Disappointing. Very small and advertised facilities not available. The exhibits and film are well presented and interesting but a little cramped. Only open 3pm to 5pm which puts you right into very busy rush hour traffic in warrington. The cockpit of the plane was not open. Its apparently only open on one or two afternoons each week. This is not mentioned on the website.
