Nice dinner date with my better half. It was Saturday night and we didnt pre booked, but after only 10 min at a bar we were seated. Service was fast and friendly and overall experience was very positive.
Food was lovely and service was quick. It gets a bit drafty and cold if you are sat by the big windows. Also if you sign up for their newsletter email you get loads of good offers sent to you. Tonight we got 40% off all the mains.
Left standing at the door, and ignored by 3 members of staff. Eventually greeted by a waitress who marched us to a table and dumped the menus on the table before disappearing .Salad bar was empty and we waited for 10 minutes for pineapple and tomatoes. Both bread baskets were empty for ages. I ordered the mixed grill. Looked amazing. However, the sausages were cold must have been precooked and reheated. Black pudding was cold. Steak was undercooked. I requested medium, it was rare, but I got told it matched their picture book perfectly! I didn't eat the steak, sausage or black pudding and they made no concession on our bill. My partner's chicken burger bun was burnt black. Again, no concession on bill. The place is run by minimum wage hopefuls who take no responsibility or ownership and clearly have no pride.
Poor quality food. The salad section was empty. Did mention took a while to refill. Rolls hard and seemed stale. Ordered Prawns in garlic. They arrived cold. Ordered chicken stack with large chips. Chicken was dry. Not much sauce. Not many chips, eat it as hungry. Only had 1 drink, as did not get asked if i required another. I attended this site when it first opened and visited it a number of times. The food and serve then was good always attentive. It seems they are running the sites down . The other Harvester in Warrington at Riverside closed. That site was good as again good service offered and nothing too much trouble, but that has closed. What has gone so wrong Harvester ???
I like coming to eat at this restaurant every now and then. It has a nice and welcoming interior design. The food is of good standards and enjoyable, however I wish there were more options. All in all a good place to eat. A high 3-4 stars from me.
