Weve sadly lost 2 dogs under the care of Beech House in the past 18 months and will never trust this practice again. One was only a just over 1 year old Frenchie. The first, a 10-year old Staffie who suddenly displayed extremely worrying signs was sent home with some special dog food - then upon returning and insisting it was a more serious issue, was misdiagnosed, until around a week later being diagnosed with a tumour which they didnt spot on the previous scan. He was booked in for surgery, but passed away the morning of the surgery before he went in. Had the issue been spotted from when we first took him, his life may have been saved had he had surgery - but we just put it down to bad luck. This was a mistake. We then got a beautiful French Bulldog. Just over 1 year of age, he was booked in to Beech House for neutering. We queried whether we needed to see a vet to make sure he was eligible and told by reception that this was not needed since it was such a simple, routine procedure and they booked him in. They let us know the main risk was a small risk of infection. As professionals, we trusted Beech House - a mistake we will not make again. On the day of the procedure, we were provided a consent form (generic, with no specific risks mentioned) to sign by a nurse (still never seen a vet anytime). We were reassured that the risks were minimal, with the main one being infection. At no point was it mentioned that French Bulldogs have a higher risk than other breeds of adverse affects from anaesthetic. Within an hour of procedure, Dylan had passed away. Beech House take no responsibility in this, despite multiple large published studies showing the risk of such an incident is as low as 0.02% in males (Perioperative mortality in cats and dogs undergoing spay or castration at a high-volume clinic" - London Veterinary Journal) Such a staggeringly low mortality rate, yet Beech House will not take any responsibility in the issue. As far as they are concerned, we signed the consent form and thats that.Disgustingly, when we went to Beech House and requested to speak to the vets responsible, we were told they were too upset to speak to us (I can assure you we were more upset) and instead had to speak to a nurse. The nurse simply reiterated we had signed the consent form, accepted no responsibility, and made a comment that the risks are higher in French Bulldogs. This was never once mentioned at all, at any point prior to his passing. We find this shocking.Choose your vet practice wisely, especially if they are undergoing any kind of surgery. We will never trust this practice again.

This vets is supposedly a shar pei specialist. Took our 8 month old shar pei in to be assesed for eye surgery. The vet started telling us how his good eye which needs nothing was bad and needed tacking. Wasnt until we told her she had the wrong eye she saw he couldnt even open the other one. Then after his previous owners had left him like this for 8 months they told us he needed anti biotics for the eye they couldnt even open to look in and pain killers this was on the fri and we booked him in for eye tacking on the monday morning. We questioned why after 8 months living like this he suddenly needed 75 worth of tablets for the sake of 2 more days. We refused and they took the tablets off the bill. Monday morning we were booked in for 10.40 am got a call after travelling from manchester to warrington at 10.20 to say operation had been cancelled. We had starved the dog since last for no reason. We were told he could only have his eye tacked now at a cost of 120 and needed full entropian surgery again at 12 months old at a cost of 650 and also the specialist vet who does the eye surgery is retired so just your bog standard vet doing the op! After speaking to another specialist we found out he can have the full entropian now at a cost of 250 so we are so glad they cancelled he would probably have been left with permanent damage after surgery from these incompetent people. Avoid beech house !!

Sean is brilliant with our sharpei he understands the breed very well, wouldn't go any where else.

I used this vets for a progesterone test as I had a big breeding with the stud dog having to travel here from Germany. It's a simple procedure what can take up to 30 mins. I got my bloods took out my girl at 10 in the morning on the Monday they said they would have my results later that day, I expressed how important this mating was and that I needed the results soon as, they told me the latest would be 6 o'clock in the night. After phoning a few times it got to 8 o'clock and still no results, they told me it would be in the morning now. The Tuesday morning comes they tell me her levels are 30.01 that was now nearly 24 hours ago so they would of changed dramatically by then so was pointless getting the bloods took there in the first place and for 70 when phoning them they was laughing diwn the phone to me saying there's nothing they can do it's not there fault it's the labs fault. I'm now sitting in a vets in Crosby waiting for my results to come back which will take 30 mins and for 30 plus I won't be able to use the dog I've been waiting to use for months as it takes 12-13 hours to get here. DO NOT USE THESE VETS RIP OFF SCAMMERS

I firstly rang the practice on a Friday evening around 6pm and I was offered an appointment the very next day. On arriving at the practice. There were plenty of parking spaces and it was extremely easy to find.On walking into the reception I was greeted by a very nice young lady, who made me feel extremely welcome and she was very proffesional . Not only did she make my first visit memorable she also made such a fuse of my puppy. Who instantly bonded with her.I was not kept waiting long at all in the waiting area. It seemed as soon as I sat down. I was called in with the vet.The lady vet we saw was fantastic and gave me lots of advice and tips. All in all I found this veterinary practice the best one I have ever visited. Thank you so much.Kind regards Dawn
