I find all function rooms in places like this a bit soulless. The air con was set for too cool. I was attending a presentation with afternoon tea, and it had a feel of school awards in the assembly room. For a big hotel it was a struggle to get a parking space. I wouldn't choose to go there again.
Positives: warm room, good gym...negatives.. restaurant full of dirty plates both nights I was there. Very limited menu. If it's deep fried or a pizza you want you should be ok. I could not bring myself to eat there as it was too grubby. Fortunately there is a pub over the road, within a short walk, that has a better menu, still not fine dining but it's clean and the staff are a bit more on the ball. I stay in the area every week but will not be returning to this hotel
This is a great location close to Warrington town centre and also only 30 minutes from liverpool, Chester and Manchester! There are plenty of dining options close by (the food is the one thing that lets village hotels down). Plenty of free car parking available. Pleasant, helpful staff upon arrival. Good general ambiance throughout the Hotel and excellent facilities, gym, bar, restaurant etc. Food was good, albeit basic. Rooms were very good, spacious, clean and very comfortable beds. The only downside was that there were sometimes insufficient bar staff and some rooms had no heating (when we stayed).
Simple but luxurious at the same time. Great time, lovely food and loads of facilities. Very very nice people, and a Starbucks for coffee... Really surprisingly nice.
